Lighting Renewal Programme

Lighting Renewal Programme 1999 1334 Brading Roman Villa

Museum lighting needs to highlight and emphasise the texture, colour and shape of exhibits whether they are historic artefacts, mosaics or the remaining villa walls. As technology changes so does the way we use lighting. At Brading our museum has fallen behind with updating the lighting for both the main museum space and the cabinets.

Our aim is to begin raising funds to be able to completely upgrade our lighting throughout the museum. We will need to consider the balance of visibility, interest, preservation and environmental conditions when designing this new system. Using the most up to date light technology we hope to be able to bring new energy into the space and help create a museum that inspires and excites our visitors.

If you would like to help us to raise funds for this project or any of our other conservation projects please donate.
