Covid 19: Villa Closure

Covid 19: Villa Closure

Covid 19: Villa Closure 3360 1864 Brading Roman Villa
MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF ORT

We have been keeping our doors open to the museum, café and grounds to continue to serve our customers and loyal supporters observing Coronavirus (Covid-19) recommendations. However, the health and safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers is paramount, and therefore in light of the most recent government recommendations, we are closing as of 20th March, until further notice.

All events that have been planned will now be postponed to dates yet to be fixed. We will be reviewing what we may be able to offer as we move forward, particularly as a museum such as ours can provide inspiration and enjoyment to all who visit it and our café, in times such as these. In the meantime, our website enables you to visit the museum and our collection remotely.

Your support as Friends and donors is more important now than ever. We have substantial ongoing overhead costs that will need to be met despite our loss of income from visitors and events. We are already investigating the Government’s announced grants and other financial support packages. We are awaiting details and their applicability to small, independent charities, such as ourselves and our loyal staff within the government’s guidelines. In the short term, even where applicable, they may not meet our immediate needs and this adds to our uncertainty for all of us. Accordingly, we would be very grateful to any of you who feel able to make a donation, however small, to help through the donation page under SUPPORT US. Please add Gift Aid if applicable, as that also helps!

Thank you for your understanding and support in these difficult times for all of us and wish you and your families all the best.

We will be reviewing and monitoring the situation and keep you informed and look forward to being able to welcome you back as soon as we are able to reopen.

Best wishes
Stewart White
Chairman, Oglander Roman Trust
