Alverstone Roman Remains: Walking Festival

Sat 09 Oct 2021

10:00 am - 12:00 pm

As part of the IOW Walking Festival we will be offering a selection of walks that explore the history and the glorious natural environment.

Alverstone was thought to be the first crossing point of the River Yar. In 2005, many remarkable Iron Age and Roman finds were found at the site and it is these that we are going to explore. The end of this walk uses a new permissive path that shortens the walk considerably.
