Brading Marshes, History & Myths: Walking Festival

Wed 20 Oct 2021

15:00 pm - 17:00 pm

As part of the IOW Walking Festival we will be offering a selection of walks that explore the history and the glorious natural environment.

Explore both sides of the marshes, searching for the lost village of Wolverton, while enjoying the varied wildlife. There are rest stops and you can shorten the walk if desired.

Because of the River Yar we have to retrace our steps on a couple of occasions so these elements could be omitted to achieve a shorter walk. We will be giving information on the history and myths at appropriate points. The walk is almost totally flat, but it is therefore muddy. However, the footpaths have been widened recently. This walk will begin from the lay by just past the Yarbridge on the way to Bembridge.
