Brading Roman Villa is delighted once again to be taking part in the Isle of Wight Walking Festival.
In 2026, the festival will run twice: from 9 to 17 May for the Spring sessions and from 3 to 11 October for the Autumn programme. With its long history, scenic routes and warm community feel, the festival is the perfect opportunity to explore the Island on foot.

About the Isle of Wight Walking Festival

- The unique landscapes of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve
With over half of the Island designated as a National Landscape, the festival provides an unforgettable backdrop for outdoor exploration.
Brading Roman Villa Nature Trail Walk
Brading Roman Villa will host its popular guided walk, taking you around the grounds that were once actively farmed during the Roman period. This gentle nature trail lasts around 45 minutes to an hour and offers:
- Beautiful views across the surrounding landscape
- Insights into how the land was cultivated in Roman times
- Information about ancient crops and farming methods
- Learn more about how crops were transported across the Island
It’s an engaging blend of history, nature and archaeology suitable for families, casual walkers and heritage enthusiasts.

Relax at the Forum Café
After your walk, the Forum Café will be open for light lunches, refreshments and homemade cake. It’s the ideal place to unwind, chat with fellow walkers and enjoy the peaceful setting of the Villa.
Free Art Exhibition
During the festival, visitors can also enjoy our free art exhibition, showcasing local creativity in a unique historical environment.
