Brading Roman Villa is delighted to invite visitors of all ages to our annual Apple Day, taking place on Saturday 19th September 2025.
This free community event celebrates apple growing, local crafts, and our shared responsibility to care for the landscape around us.
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint, Apple Day brings together heritage, nature, and community. Now in its third year, the event offers a wonderful opportunity for visitors to learn about traditional skills, discover local wildlife, and enjoy a fun-filled day in the beautiful surroundings of Brading Roman Villa.
There will be plenty to see and do throughout the day, including:
- Traditional Apple Pressing Demonstrations
- Arts and Crafts Activities
- Morris Dancing Performances
- Heritage and Craft Demonstrations
- Walks along the Autumn Nature Trail
- Folk Music
- Access to the Museum and Forum Café
Traditional Apple Pressing
One of the highlights of the day will be the traditional apple press on the front lawn of Brading Roman Villa. Visitors can watch demonstrations showing how freshly harvested apples are transformed into delicious juice. We warmly encourage visitors to bring along their own apples for pressing and discover just how rewarding this traditional skill can be.
Homemade Apple Treats at the Forum Café
No Apple Day would be complete without some delicious seasonal refreshments. The Forum Café, located within the museum, will be serving a selection of homemade apple treats freshly prepared by the café team. Visitors can enjoy traditional apple-inspired cakes, bakes, and other seasonal favourites while taking a break from the day’s activities.
