Monthly Natter at the villa

Community Drop-in Sessions

On the second Thursday of every month, the Forum Café will be hosting Age UK Isle of Wight (AUKIW) for an informal monthly drop-in session.

AUKIW provides information and support not just for older adults but for anyone aged 50 and above, as well as their families and carers. Their services encompass a wide range of support options, including assistance for those living with dementia and memory loss, home help, hospital discharge support, goal setting, information and signposting, befriending services, and volunteer opportunities.

With a wide range of services, the charity welcomes any queries. If they are unable to support you directly, their signposting services can offer valuable guidance.
One of the charity’s community team members will be available to speak with at each session. Whether you have questions about accessing AUKIW’s services or wish to explore how to get involved.

Join AUKIW at the Brading Roman Villa Café for a chat, a cup of coffee and to discover more about the charity.

Journaling Life Exhibition
11 September - 24 October 2026
Brading Roman Villa are proud to present our ‘Journaling Life’ exhibition as part of Can You Hear Us? Between March and July 2026, artist Lucy Bell invited participants to explore the Museum collection for clues that the Romans who lived and worked at Brading left behind, for example, a floor tile with the maker’s mark, his handprint now preserved and displayed. Over the three sessions, participants created their own legacy, clues to their identity, with the creation of their own life journal artwork, clay handprints and other clues to who we are. Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, an additional way to support the museum is by using Gift Aid.

We are able to claim Gift Aid on pay once, visit all year tickets. When you book online or buy your ticket at the museum, we will ask you if you are a UK taxpayer and if you are happy for us to claim Gift Aid on your ticket purchase. As a registered charity, this means we can claim an additional 25p on every £1 which makes a real difference to Brading Roman Villa Trust’s work to continue to protect and conserve the site for the future. All you need to do is give your permission when you buy your ticket. So, if you purchase a family ticket and select Gift Aid, we can claim £9.75 from the government.

By allowing us to claim Gift Aid, you are declaring that you are a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year it is your responsibility to pay any difference. If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HMRC to adjust your tax code.
