This July, art lovers are invited to experience the captivating landscapes and seascapes of local artist Bibi Lihou in a special month-long exhibition celebrating the beauty, drama, and ever-changing character of the Isle of Wight.
Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, Bibi’s paintings are inspired by the Island’s unique environment, where shifting weather, dramatic coastlines, and expansive skies create an endless source of artistic inspiration. Her work captures both the powerful energy of stormy seas and skies and the delicate, tranquil colours found in calmer moments of the landscape.
Originally from France, Bibi moved to the Isle of Wight in 2020 after spending many years in the Channel Islands, where she worked and exhibited with a local art group. Since relocating to the island, she has continued to develop her distinctive style, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounds her.
Through expressive brushwork and a vibrant palette, Bibi’s paintings explore atmosphere, movement, and light. Each piece reflects a personal connection to the landscape, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the changing moods of the sea, sky, and countryside.
