Roman Games at the Villa – Part of the Wight Games Festival
We’re delighted to be taking part in this year’s Wight Games Festival this July, a wonderful community ‘Olympic Games’ for the Isle of Wight. The festival celebrates participation, inclusivity, and fun, bringing together traditional sports alongside a wide range of activities so that everyone can get involved in a way that suits them. Even better, all money raised will be shared between three Island charities.

Here at the Museum, we’ll be hosting two lively afternoons of Roman Games, offering a chance to step back in time and experience a taste of ancient competition. Expect fun, friendly challenges with a slightly competitive edge, perfect for families, friends, and anyone looking to try something a little different this summer.
- Thursday 23rd July | 13:30 – 15:00
- Thursday 30th July | 13:30 – 15:00
A small donation to the Wight Games Festival is requested to take part, helping support local charities.

Feel free to come dressed in Roman-inspired costume if you’d like to fully embrace the spirit of the occasion!
